Lest we forget

Summer is almost gone and this is time to reflect on activities done during the last months. A lot happened: B-29, Large format scanner, new location for our operations, an airshow and a new web site.

Fifi and FZ668

July:

The CAF and Fifi stopped during almost one week at St-Hubert and were parked near our C-47. The contrast between our old lady, beaten by 25 years of neglect and the rutilant and perfectly restored B-29 was striking. It was the opportunity for us to have between 500 and 750 persons who visited our aircraft and learned about our activities.
We learned a lot from this experience and despite we know we have a lot to improve, these days were definitely a success.
Our C-47 was built in 1944 but the DC-3 design is from the mid 30's . The B-29 was designed during the 40's and the technology gap between these two legends showed how aviation progressed during these years.

August:

Last february, we recovered more than 12000 blueprints from Douglas and Canadair covering the C-47/DC-3 and the DC-4. One challenge was to share them online as they are most of them 24" or 36" width. We acquired a 36 inches color scanner and around 1000 blueprints are already scanned. They should start to appear on the site in November this year.
